Surf‑Camp Escape

Perched on an ocean‑front cliff, the camp blends wild Caribbean scenery with uncrowded breaks such as Playa Grande and hidden “secret spots” known only to locals. One two‑hour coached session is included every morning; boards and surf wear are provided, and you may keep the board afterward to practise on your own. Between sessions there are options to snorkel the house reef, explore karst lakes and waterfalls, or simply watch sunsets that sometimes feature migrating humpback whales (January–April). Instruction covers wave reading, line‑up etiquette, surf psychology and video error‑correction, guiding every guest—beginner or improver—to the next level of independent surfing.

Surf lessons normally run in the first half of the day—timed around tides and swell conditions—and last about two hours. After coaching the board remains yours, so if you hire a car you can stay on the beach and keep practising or hunt down another break. One coached session is included every day, year‑round; scheduling flexes with the ocean, and optional excursions to karst lakes, waterfalls or other wild beaches can fill any gaps.

Instruction is available in Russian, English or Spanish, and covers both the celebrated Playa Grande and a network of uncrowded “secret” spots that only a handful of locals know. Whether you arrive as a complete beginner or a surfer polishing manoeuvres, the goal is the same: steady progress on warm Caribbean waves in an environment built for focus and discovery.

Perched on a quiet cliff four kilometres outside the town of Río San Juan, the surf camp occupies a private ocean‑front residence surrounded by raw Caribbean nature and absolute calm. The property consists of a three‑storey house with five guest rooms plus a separate two‑bedroom villa with its own pool and broad terrace.

In the main house each room sleeps one, two or three people and includes a private shower and toilet, while a fully equipped shared kitchen lets guests cook whenever they wish. The pool villa offers a kitchen, two bedrooms and one bathroom—ideal for a small group wanting extra privacy. Throughout the camp you’ll find balance‑trainers, an S‑board, and yoga‑plus‑fitness gear for off‑water training.

Meals are self‑catered. Stock the kitchen with local produce or make the short drive into Río San Juan for cafés and restaurants whenever you prefer to eat out.
