Join us for a fully immersive 5-day sailing course on the beautiful Turkish coastline and earn your YY1 certification—the first step in Turkey’s Ministry of Education–approved National Sailing Program (TUYEP), developed in collaboration with World Sailing (ISAF).

By the end of this course, you'll not only learn how to crew a sailboat—you'll be a certified sailor, confident in all the basics of sailing and seamanship.

This certified program is internationally recognized when combined with your Amateur Seaman's Certificate (ADB)—enabling you to rent or skipper a sailboat in Turkey and abroad.

What You'll Learn

• Introduction to onboard equipment & sail rigging
• Raising, trimming, and reefing sails (main sail and genoa)
• Fundamentals of wind and navigation
• Steering and basic maneuvers under sail
• Docking, anchoring & safety procedures
• Map reading, rope handling & collision rules
• Life at sea: teamwork, responsibility, and safe onboard practices

Check‑in (Saturday 17:00): Board the yacht, settle into your cabin, safety brief, provisioning. Sunday–Friday (training week):

• Early morning: optional 1‑hour light walk with stretching and bay views

• Swim, then breakfast on board

• Classroom/boat systems briefing, then sails up as soon as the wind starts

• Under way: 15–20 NM with lots of manoeuvre practice (tacks, gybes, reefing, MOB drills)

Late afternoon: moor or anchor in a new cove/pier; rest time

• Dinner: cook on board or eat at a local restaurant (instructor is your guest)

• Evening: debriefs, chartwork basics, Q&A

Friday 14:00: Course ends; exams can be taken. Stay aboard until Saturday morning if you wish.

Check‑out (Saturday 09:00): Disembark.  

Six nights on training yachts with three double cabins plus single berths in the saloon. In summer you can even sleep in the cockpit or on deck under the stars.
