4-Time European QS Champion Chasing CT Glory

Hi, I’m Jorgann Couzinet, a regular-foot surfer raised on Réunion Island and now based in Hossegor, France. I caught my first wave at nine on the reefs of Saint-Gilles, but a run of fatal shark attacks pushed me to the mainland, where I’ve chased the World Surf League dream ever since. Four WSL Europe QS crowns and three French national titles prove I can win on any coast, and my near-perfect 19.17 heat at Morocco’s Pro Taghazout Bay (QS 3000) showed I’m still climbing. Between tour stops I create ARPP-certified content for partners such as Soöruz, DHD and Oakley, mentor Réunionese groms and speak for ocean-safety projects.

Every time I paddle out—especially when I’m back home—I surf only with a patrol boat and watermen carrying spearguns in the lineup, and I never hit the water without my Ocean Guardian FREEDOM+ Surf shark-shield strapped on. I’m scanning for fins the moment I pop up, and if I fall I sprint straight back onto the board.
